HKU Music Festival
Background
To celebrate the 110th anniversary, the University of Hong Kong Libraries established an endowment fund to support the HKU Music Festival in 2023. Our inaugural HKU Music Festival was held on 19 January 2024 at Haking Wong Podium, HKU.
Donor
Mr. John Lau is pleased to be the donor of the HKU Music Festival fund that ​will support the production of the event.
The HKU Music Festival is the first cultural event hosted by the University of Hong Kong Libraries that promotes creativity in music and art. The Festival takes place annually in the beginning of the calendar year, with a preference for outdoor locations within the HKU campus.

It is an open competition with cash awards for HKU students. Selected HKU students, as individuals or in teams, will perform their works in the Festival.
With the support of the fund, HKU will be able to organize the festival and provide a platform for students to showcase their talents.

Our second HKU Music Festival is expected to take place in February 2025.
